This is a delicious soup recipe I came up with while very sick with a virus. It perked me up and sent me on a quick road to recovery. This is a very easy to make soup.
Ingredients:
48 ounces chicken broth (i prefer boxed swanson broth)
6 ounces chicken breasts (i use pre-cooked canned or grilled lunch meat, but you can cook your own)
1 1/2 cups cooking sherry
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground sage
1 tablespoon minced onion (i prefer to use the dried kind in a bottle)
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, pour in the chicken broth and cooking sherry and put on high heat.
2. Chop the chicken breast into small chunks and add to the broth. If the chicken is not pre-cooked, boil the chicken until it is done.
3. Stir in the garlic powder, ground sage, and minced onion.
4. Reduce heat once the soup comes to a rolling boil. Let the soup simmer for five minutes, and remove from heat.
