Favourite Date & Walnut Biscuits

Ingredients:
125 g butter
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups self raising flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
125 g dates, chopped
60 g walnuts, chopped
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla and egg.
2. Sift in the flour and salt.
3. Add the dates and walnuts, combine well.
4. Roll into walnut sized balls and place on lined baking tray. Press down a little.
5. Bake in moderate oven for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
6. Cool on wire rack then hide them from children and unexpected guests!
