Fast And Floral Sweet Rolls

A rich, sweetened quickbread-style dough envelops fesh and fragrant lavender blossoms before being topped off with a warm maple syrup. It's the best breakfast you could dream of! Adapted from Happy Valley Lavender farm.
Ingredients:
'dough
1/4 cup softened butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon juice
3 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
'filling
1/4 cup softened butter
4 tbsp fresh lavender flowers
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
'topping
1/3 cup maple syrup, warmed
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F, lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
2. Cream together butter & sugar.
3. Add lemon juice and vanilla and blend well.
4. Beat in flour, baking powder and salt until mixture is crumbly.
5. Make a well in the flour mixture, and mix in milk to form a stiff dough. Do not knead!
6. Roll out dough 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface in a rectangle.
7. Spread butter over the dough.
8. Sprinkle with filling ingredients.
9. Starting at the wide edge, roll dough into a spiral, sealing the far edge.
10. Cut evenly into 12 rounds.
11. Bake for 20 minutes.
12. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.
