Excellent Gingerbread

Best gingerbread I've ever had!
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup dark molasses
3/4 cup hot water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 teaspoon ginger
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 325°.
2. Grease and flour a 9 x 9-inch square pan.
3. Put all ingredients into a large bowl; beat on low speed just'til blended, then beat 3 minutes on medium speed.
4. Pour into pan and bake for 50 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
5. Great served warm with whipped cream!
