Ex-Husband's Grandmothers' (Ahhh-Mazing) Lasagna

I have to admit this is best lasagna recipe ever. It was my ex-husband's grandmother's secret recipe... so I figured I'd give the secret to the whole world! Shhhh! ;)
Ingredients:
3 lbs ground beef
1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes
1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 quart ragu tomato sauce
2 large onions, chopped
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon oregano
3 bay leaves
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 lb mozzarella cheese
1/2 lb provolone cheese, sliced
1 lb ricotta cheese
1 large lasagna noodle
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef with the onions, then mix first 13 ingredients & cook for 3 hours, then assemble lasagna as per below:.
2. Cover bottom of the dish with sauce then layer noodles, ricotta, sauce. Repeat two times, then top with provolone, sauce then mozzarella.
3. Bake at 350 until cheese is brown - about 45 minute.
4. Let stand 20 minutes before serving.
