English Lemon Pound Cake

This is a quick and easy pound cake to make.... The recipe came out of my clay pottery cookbook.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 teaspoons lemon extract
Directions:
1. Cream butter and shortening; add sugar and cream again.
2. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Mix dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
4. Mix well, add milk and beat 2 minutes.
5. Stir in flavorings.
6. Pour into clay flower baking pot or a small loaf pan and bake 70 -75 minutes.
7. Grease and flour baking dish before pouring batter in.
