Elizabeth's Apple Oatmeal Crumb Pie

A non-alchoholic version of my favorite pie. (Can also marinate apples with spices and sugar and a 1/2 c rum for a few days and then reduce the liquid with the butter for a carmel sauce)
Ingredients:
1 pie crust
1 c oats
1 c butter
8 apples
1 c brown sugar
1 c walnuts
Directions:
1. Prepare apples.
2. Spice to taste.
3. Place pie crust in pie plate.
4. Chop nuts.
5. Layer in order: 1/4 c oats, half of the apples, 1/4 c nuts, 1/4 c oats, the rest of the apples.
6. Melt half of the butter and half of the brown sugar together with a little bit of lemon juice and pour over.
7. Cut together remaining butter, brown sugar, oats and walnuts (chopped).
8. Crumble on top.
9. Bake at 350 for 40 min.
