A spicy,fruity,moist ,Moravian, Czechoslovakian cake,popular during the depression. Ingredients:
boil 5 minutes and cool |
2 cups sugar |
2 cups raisins |
2 cups water |
2 tablespoons shortening |
add |
1 tablespoon molasses |
sift |
1 teaspoon soda |
1 teaspoon allspice |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
3 cups flour |
add to above.mix and bake in 8 square pan at 350f for 35 minutes or until toothpick test. |
