A nice basic breakfast/brunch casserole.
Ingredients:
5 slices white bread
butter
3/4 lb (12 oz) grated cheddar cheese
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dry mustard
pepper
Directions:
1. Remove crust from bread. Butter bread and cut in quarters. Grease 9 x 11 inch casserole dish and line with bread, butter side up. Pour cheese over bread. Beat eggs, milk, salt, mustard and pepper, pour over cheese. Leave in refrigerator overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour uncovered. (Bake last 5 minutes uncovered.)
2. Variations: Add any type of pre cooked breakfast meat.
