This is a very easy wonton soup recipe with a short cooking time. This simple soup reminds me of cold days in Iowa.
Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons cooking oil
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 lb chicken breast
1/2 lb shrimp
1 egg, beaten
1 chicken bouillon cube
4 cups water
salt and pepper
1 stalk scallion, finely sliced for the garnish
Directions:
1. Mix the chicken breast, and shrimp in a food processor then put in separate container when they are well grounded.
2. Pour the egg to the mixture of grounded chicken and shrimp. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
3. Heat the cooking oil and stir the garlic for 2 -3 minutes. Add the water, soy sauce and oyster sauce. Bring to a boil then dissolve the chicken bouillon on it.
4. Take 1 wonton wrap, fill with one table spoon of the seasoned mixture of grounded chicken and shrimp.
5. Fold over in triangle shape. Moisten the edge of the wonton wrap with water and press them firmly so they stick together. Do this to the rest of the wonton wraps.
6. Add these filled wonton to the boiled bouillon water and let them cook until you see them floating.
7. Serve in a bowl and sprinkle the sliced scallion on top.
