Easy Vanilla Caramel Sauce

This sauce cooks quickly, and can be used for ice cream, or for a dip for fruits and cookies.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup water
2 1/4 teaspoons butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar, plus
1/4 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water, plus
1/2 teaspoon water
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, combine 3/4 cup water, butter, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, and remove from heat.
2. In a small cup, mix together cornstarch and remaining water. Stir mixture into sauce. Cook over medium heat and heat through for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Serve hot.
