This easy recipe makes a great side dish for something as simple as Polish sausage or as fancy as a pork roast!
Ingredients:
4 cups shredded red cabbage
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
about 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves, or to taste
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
2 cups cored, peeled, and sliced apples (i use golden delicious)
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Cover and cook over low heat about 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Remove cover and cook until most of the liquid is evaporated, about 10 minutes more.
