EASY PICKLED BEANS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Galvan Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1986. Ingredients:
2 large cans green beans with shelly beans |
1 large can whole kernel corn |
1 large can sauerkraut |
5 slices bacon |
Directions:
1. Drain beans, corn, and sauerkraut (reserve sauerkraut juice). 2. Mix together beans, corn and sauerkraut juice in large bowl with lid. 3. Place in refrigerator overnight then stir several times next morning. 4. Fry bacon then remove and drain well. 5. Add bacon to bean mixture then bring to a boil. 6. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. |
