Easy Pear Gratin With Almond Topping

4 or 8 servings. Depends on the way you cut it. I love this and I;m so happy to have this easy version.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
4 small firm pears, halved, peeled and cored
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup crushed almonds
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
2. Heavily butter a 9-inch pie plate, preferably glass, with the 2
3. tablespoons butter, and sprinkle the 2 tablespoons sugar over the
4. bottom. Place the halved pears flat-side down in the pie plate.
5. Make the batter by beating together the egg, milk, flour and salt.
6. Pour over the pears.
7. Mix together the 1/4 cup sugar and the almonds; sprinkle over
8. the pears.
9. Bake for 15 minutes.
10. Serve hot or warm.
