Easy Maple Butter Sauce

This is a quick and easy sauce to serve over ice cream or pound cake. Add some chopped toasted walnuts or pecans to finish.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup maple syrup, not pancake syrup
1 tablespoon butter, not margarine
2 tablespoons whipping cream
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan bring maple syrup and butter to a boil over medium heat.
2. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Cool to room temperature.
4. Whisk in cream.
5. Store in the refrigerator.
