These are wonderful - toasty from the oven and chuck full of clams - how much easier and delicious could this get! Recipe from the Wine Country Inn, St. Helena, California Ingredients:
1 loaf thinly sliced white bread |
3 cans chopped clams (6-1/2 ounces) drained |
1/3 cup finely chopped green onion |
1/2 cup mayonnaise |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon tabasco pepper sauce |
6 tablespoons parmesan cheese |
6 tablespoons melted butter |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients except bread and butter. Cut crusts off bread and roll each slice until very thin. Spread about 1 Tablespoon of mixture on bread and roll it up like a jelly roll. Brush with butter and arrange about 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for approximately 12 minutes until lightly browned. |
