This is a quick and easy dessert recipe for summer picnics. It's addicting too. I would definitely recommend making it the day before and leaving overnight in the fridge if you can - the graham crackers become soft and flaky, more like pastry crust. Read more . Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 box regular or honey graham crackers
2 - 3 oz packages instant french vanilla (or vanilla) pudding mix
3 cups milk
1 - 8 oz container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 – 16 oz container prepared chocolate frosting
Directions:
1. Spray the bottom of a 9x13-inch pan with nonstick spray and line with graham crackers.
2. In a large bowl, combine pudding mix and milk. Stir well. Stir in whipped topping with the prepared pudding.
3. Spread half of the pudding mixture over graham cracker layer. Top with another layer of graham crackers and the remaining pudding mixture. Top with a final layer of graham crackers and frost with chocolate frosting. Refrigerate until serving.
4. NOTES – Use the French Vanilla flavored whipped topping if you can find it (this is usually a seasonal item carried around the holidays). Also, use Betty Crocker Pour & Frost chocolate flavored frosting for a smooth top. Or, you can make a simple ganache by melting 8 oz of semisweet chocolate chips with some heavy cream and/or butter. The graham crackers become more pastry-like the longer this sits before serving (a few hours or overnight is best).
