One of my friends said the other day that someone was disappointed she didn't make her mac and cheese because they love her mac and cheese. Now, I've never know this friend to be a great cook and I have trouble with mac and cheese myself and it irritates me. Read more . So I said, How do you make it? She told me and I found it hard to believe. I had to try it. This was the easiest mac and cheese I've ever made and it was good with cheeseburgers and corn on the cob. It may not be the world's best mac and cheese but it's easier than the box mix and I'm sorry to say, it's better than my homemade mac and cheese. This will serve 10-12 and when I made it, I cut the recipe in half.
Ingredients:
1 16 oz box elbow macaroni
1 jar ragu double cheddar sauce, 16 oz. jar
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
16 oz. shredded colby cheese
1/2 sleeve ritz crackers, crushed
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Boil macaroni according to directions, drain.
3. Return macaroni to pan and add Ragu and stir.
4. Add seasonings and stir.
5. Reserve 1/4 cup cheese and add the remainder to the macaroni and stir
6. Pour into greased 9x13 pan
7. Sprinkle with the cracker crumbs and remaining cheese
8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and browned a little
