This is a wonderful recipe received from a friend several years ago and it is always a hit at family gatherings. Warning: it is full of calories, but worth every fattening bite. Ingredients:
1 (18 ounce) package white cake mix with pudding or 1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix with pudding |
1 (1 lb) box powdered sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
3 eggs |
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup chopped pecans or 1 cup nuts, of your choice |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 baking dish.
3. Beat together butter and 1 egg until smooth.
4. Mix in dry cake mix just until crumbly.
5. Pat mixture down in pan and sprinkle with nuts.
6. Beat together cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs, powered sugar, and vanilla and pour over mixture already in pan.
7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until lightly browned.
