easy cherry cake with pudding frosting |
1 can cherry pie filling -- (20 ounce) |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 eggs |
2/3 cup oil |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup sugar |
3/4 cup chopped nuts |
combine all ingredients in a large bowl; mix together well with a |
spoon. pour into a greased 9x13-inch cake pan. bake at 350 f. for 40- 50 minutes. cool, and frost with vanilla pudding frosting (see recipe below). |

combine 1 4-oz. package instant vanilla pudding mix with 1-1/2 cups |
cold milk and 1 envelope dream whip topping mix. beat together in |
deep bowl at high speed until fluffy and smooth. |
