Easy Banana Nut Cake

Most of my cake recipes are from scratch but when in a hurry a box cake is the way to go. With a little help a box cake can become a delicious cake when adding in other ingredients...My friends can't believe this cake is not made from scratch and always want the recipe.
Ingredients:
cake
1 pkg. yellow cake mix (2 layer size)
3 eggs
1 cup mashed ripe banana's
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup veg. oil
frosting
1 (8oz) softened cream cheese
1/2 cup softened sweet butter
1/cup powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees for glass - 350degrees - other
2. ( 8x8 square or round glass baking pans are my personal choice )
3. Place all the cake ingredients in a mixer bowl and blend well at low speed.
4. Increase speed to medium and beat for an additional two minutes.
5. Scrap the cake mixture into well greased & lightly floured pans.
6. Bake 35-40 minutes. (toothpick test)
7. Cool cake completely.
8. Mix well at a medium speed all ingredients for the frosting except the nuts.
9. Frost the cake and sprinkle with the nuts. Or you can mix the nuts into the frosting, It's up to you how you frost this cake.

11. I like to press the nuts into the sides of my frosted layered cake myself.
