Easy Baked Apples

This comes from my Hungry Girl cookbook, these are my personal changes - i prefer slicing the apples before baking, and i also use Gala apples (since that's what I normally eat), and i used enough soda to cover the apples (more than 12 oz.), so adapt to your preferences :-)
Ingredients:
4 apples (medium, rome)
12 ounces diet black cherry soda
1/2 teaspoon artificial sweetener (splenda)
1 dash cinnamon
Directions:
1. core apples, place in casserole dish.
2. pour soda over apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and splenda.
3. bake at 375 for 45 minutes (until apples are tender).
4. can be served warm, hot, or cold.
