These hashbrowns are so easy to make! I personally cannot make those frozen hashbrowns, (i'm not too good with pre-packaged things), so one day I threw this together! Not only do we have them for breakfast but sometimes as an afternoon snack as well! Read more ! I wrote the recipe for one serving because you only want to do one potato at a time or else it starts to turn colors. Plus they also come out too big and harder to flip.
Ingredients:
1 potato
1/4-1/2 tsp salt
pepper to desired taste
olive oil for frying (about 1 t;depending on size of potato)
Directions:
1. Heat olive oil in a medium frying pan.
2. Grate the potato as you would cheese using the large grated holes.
3. Mix the salt and pepper with the potato.
4. Sprinkle grated potato together in the hot oil to form a circle about 1/2 inch thick. Slightly press down with spatula until flat.
5. Carefully loosen edges with spatula. When it feels like it is holding together and bottom is golden-brown, flip it. (this may be a couple of minutes, but keep a close eye as it could burn fast)
6. When other side is golden-brown, remove from heat.
7. Enjoy!
