This one is all about keeping cramps away, and iron up! It has plant-based protein (hemp), so as not to interfere with the vegetables, but so you get all the protein you need in the morning. I also hear that pineapple is a miracle anti-cramp agent. Add some chasteberry powder or liquid to this to get a full effect of raising progersterone levels. Add any supplements or herbs that you want or need. You can even switch out the water for a good menstrual support tea. With all of this in one smoothie (for breakfast no less) you should feel energized and ready to take on the world. It should be the perfect combat to the Menstrual blues, blahs, and cravings that make dieting so hard during your period.
Ingredients:
2 cups kale
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup pineapple
1 cup water
4 t hemp powder
1 banana
Directions:
1. Blend greens and water first, to give them a good chopping.
2. Add pineapple. Blend. (you can also try mango).
3. Add banana. Blend.
4. Add hemp, chasteberry (empty 4 capsules) and add more water (or tea, or coconut water) if needed, depending on how thick or smooth you want it.
5. Drink it down! (The smoothie will be a bit textured, but delicious!)
