A brownie that contains both chocolate and butterscotch flavours. Who could ask for more?
Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
2/3 cup chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter
Directions:
1. Chocolate Layer: Beat eggs until foamy.
2. Add sugar, flour, walnuts, and salt.
3. Melt cocoa and butter together in saucepan over low heat.
4. Add to egg mixture and blend well.
5. Spread in greased 9x13 inch pan.
6. Set aside.
7. Butterscotch Layer: Cream butter with brown sugar in another bowl.
8. Add eggs and vanilla.
9. Beat until well mixed.
10. Add remaining ingredients.
11. Stir.
12. Spoon over chocolate layer in small blobs.
13. Spread as best you can.
14. Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
15. Cool.
16. Icing: Bring butter, brown sugar, and milk to boil in saucepan.
17. Simmer for 2 minutes.
18. Cool.
19. Stir in icing sugar, adding more sugar or milk if necessary to make consistency for easy spreading.
20. Spread over cooled squares.
21. Melt chocolate chips and butter together in top of double boiler or in microwave on medium-low heat to melt, stir often.
22. Drizzle over icing.
