Devil's Smoothie - Cure for the Common Cold

I've known about this recipe for several years and it is time to be shared with RecipeZaar. This recipe is from Melissa Ray Davis and taken from her blog. This smoothie is a treatment for the common cold and is best taken at the early onset of symptoms. It is strong and I usually take it over a period of an hour and probably best not taken on an empty stomach. Fresh ingredients are key! Also, get unsweetened 100% cranberry juice - not a juice cocktail.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups lemon ginger echinacea juice (by r.w. knudsen )
1/2 cup unsweetened 100% cranberry juice
2 fresh lemons
1 tablespoon sized chunk fresh gingerroot
4 average sized fresh garlic cloves
4 squirts of echinacea extract
Directions:
1. Add Lemon Ginger Echinacea juice to the blender.
2. Add cranberry juice.
3. Squeeze lemons directly into the blender, remove the seeds.
4. Peel the ginger root and cut into small chucks and add to blender.
5. Repeat with garlic cloves.
6. Add Echinacea extract.
7. Blend well. Drink will be pink and have a frothy head.
8. You may drink it at this point or strain it to remove unblended ginger and garlic.
