Dense Fudgy Vegan Brownies

My favourite bedtime snack! Tastes best when warmed in a 375*F oven for 20 minutes before eating. Don't overbake!
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened packed pumpkin
1/2 cup splenda granular
1 teaspoon vanilla (or any flavouring of your choice)
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp cinnamon, cloves, chili powder, cayenne, or ginger (optional, my favourite is cloves)
boiling water
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 and lightly spray an 8 x 8 baking pan.
2. Mix pumpkin, Splenda, and vanilla in a medium bowl.
3. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spice (if using) together.
4. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the pumpkin mixture.
5. Mix until just combined, adding boiling water if required.
6. Spread in prepared pan and bake 28min, until center is firm.
7. Cool completely before slicing.
