DELTA VELVET This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Monroe Estate in Stephenville, Texas in 1982.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter softened
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
8 ounce package cream cheese softened
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
8 ounce container frozen whipped topping thawed
1 small package french vanilla instant pudding mix
1 small box chocolate instant pudding mix
3 cups milk
whipped topping, toasted pecans and toffee bits for topping
Directions:
1. Cut butter into flour with fork until crumbly then stir in pecans and press into rectangular pan.
2. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes then remove pan and cool completely.
3. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy then fold in whipped toping.
4. Spread mixture over cooled crust then beat pudding mixes and milk at medium speed 2 minutes.
5. Pour evenly over cream cheese mixture then cover and chill 4 hours.
6. Spread with whipped topping then sprinkle on toasted pecans and toffee bits and serve.
