Delicious Red Wine Sauce

From a collection of my mother's recipe box. It can be used over meatballs or steak.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup red wine
3/4 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon pepper
salt
Directions:
1. Cook onions in butter until soft.
2. Stir in flour and cook for one minute.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Never let sauce boil.
