Delicious Old Fashioned Prune Cake With Buttermilk...

So easy. So delicious! So moist. Just the right combination of spices. This cake won't last long!
Ingredients:
4 *whisked* eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup cooking oil
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup *cooked real soft* prunes
buttermilk glaze
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 teaspoon soda
2 sticks butter
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, add whisked eggs and sugar
2. Beat until lemon color
3. Add oil, beat well
4. Combine flour, salt, soda, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon
5. Combine with egg mixture, beating on low
6. Add buttermilk and prunes
7. Mix well
8. Bake at 300 degrees in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour or until firm
9. Let cool in pan for about 10 minutes
10. Turn onto cake plate
11. Punch a few holes in cake before drizzling on glaze
12. Drizzle with buttermilk glaze OR *may glaze in pan*
13. BUTTERMILK GLAZE
14. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan
15. Boil for 1 minute
16. Pour over cake in pan or drizzle over cake
17. Be sure and let the glaze *soak* into the cake
