Lamb is the surprisingly delicious ingredient that sets this stew apart. Paired with tender pieces of turnip, carrots and potatoes, this stew will warm the hearts of family and friends this winter!!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3 lbs lamb, cut into 2-inch pieces
3 tablespoons crisco canola oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 onion, sliced
1 cup carrot, cut into cubes
1 cup turnip, cut into cubes
3 cups potatoes, cut into cubes
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1 teaspoon rosemary, leaves
Directions:
1. Combine flour, salt and pepper in a resealable plastic bag. Add lamb pieces and toss until well coated.
2. Heat oil in Dutch oven. Brown lamb over medium-high heat.
3. Add garlic and onion. Cook until onion is tender. Cover with boiling water. Cook over medium-low heat for 1 1/2 horus or until tender.
4. Add carrots, turnips, potatoes, salt, pepper, thyme and rosemary. Cook for 30 minutes more, or until veggies are tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
