Deep Skillet Cornbread

Once you have this cornbread no other cornbread will be good enough. This comes from my mother and she still makes it for family get togethers and we all love it very much!
Ingredients:
1 cup white flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening, melted
1 (14 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (14 ounce) can creamed corn
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Blend dry ingredients together and set aside.
2. Beat eggs, add milk and melted shortening.
3. Pour into dry mixture add canned corn and mix well. (If it seems too wet add a touch of flour).
4. Pour the vegetable oil in your cast iron skillet and place it in the oven at 375 Watch it carefully and when a drop of water sizzles when you put it in pour the mix into the skillet. It will deep fry around the edges and sizzle up the sides.
5. Bake for 30-35 min until a clean table knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Cut into wedges and serve with Sweet BBQ chili.
