This is a great dish for serving left over ham. I like to add carrots and corn to this also
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
2 1/2 cups cubed, fully cooked ham
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
pastry shells (8 in.)
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper until smooth.
2. Gradually add milk and onion; bring to a boil.
3. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
4. Stir in ham, peas, and eggs.
5. Pour into an ungreased 8 inch square or an 11x7x2 inch baking dish.
6. On a floured surface, roll pastry to fit top of dish; place over filling.
7. Seal and flute edges; cut slits on top.
8. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
