I love the flavor of bourbon and mushrooms. The flavors work so well together. I also love stuffed mushrooms with sausage. So, I joined both of my recipes together for one recipe. Hope you enjoy them! I serve these at weddings and parties that I cater and they are a big hit! Read more !
Ingredients:
1 lb mushrooms, washed, dried, and stems removed.
1/2 roll breakfast sausage(mild)
8 oz cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup burgundy
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
dash salt and pepper
1/3 cup bread crumbs
Directions:
1. Brown sausage in skillet.
2. Stir in cream cheese and cook until cream cheese softens..
3. Pour cooked sausage mixture in mixing bowl.
4. Add green onions to mixture and stir well to blend ingredients.
5. In skillet, saute mushrooms and onions in butter until tender.
6. Add seasoning and burgundy, cover and cook over low heat for 3 minutes.
7. Remove mushrooms from pan and place in casserole or baking dish.
8. Stuff mushrooms with sausage stuffing.
9. Pour butter/burgundy sauce over mushrooms.
10. Sprinkle the tops lightly with bread crumbs.
11. Place mushrooms under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes.
12. Serve
