Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Pour boiling water over chopped dates and set aside.
  2. Cream sugar and melted butter together.
  3. Add egg and salt to butter/sugar mixture.
  4. Sift together flour and baking soda.
  5. Add flour mixture alternately with water drained from dates to the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in vanilla, nuts and dates.
  7. Turn into a large greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
