Dandy Candy Oatmeal Cookies

wow a delicious cookie whats not to like peanut butter - chocolate and m& m' s ... yummm........ makes 3 1/2 dozen for your next cookie swap.............or any day!!!!
Ingredients:
1- 12 ounce jar peanut butter ( creamy)
1- cup granualed sugar
1- cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 stick of buttered flavored crisco or ( 1/2 cup of butter flavored vegeatble shortening ) plus additional for greasing..............
3- eggs
3/4 - teaspoon vanilla
3/4- teaspoon maple syrup ( or maple blend syrup)
2- teaspoons baking soda
4 1/2 - cups quick oats ( not instant or old fashioned ) uncooked and divided..............
1- package ( 8 ounces or more of ) m& m's candies
Directions:
1. heat oven to 350 degrees f. grease baking sheet with shortening
2. place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies
3. combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and 1/2 cup shortening in large bowl
4. beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended and fluffy
5. add eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup.
6. beat at high speed for 3- 4 minutes
7. add baking soda and 2 1/4 cups oats ; stir
8. stir in candy ( m& m's)
9. stir in remaining 2 1/4 cups oats..........
10. shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.
11. flatten slightly
12. place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet
13. bake at 350 degrees f. for .9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies
14. and 11 to 12 minutes for crispy cookies
15. cool 2 minutes then remove cookies to the foil to cool completely
16. makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies .............
