Dads Sweet Potatoes

My Dad is in charge of the sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm not a sweet potato lover, but, everyone loves them and there is never any leftover. He uses canned sweet potatoes, and, since everything else they make is from scratch, I assume it's a time-saver, and that he has found that he can't tell the difference. Read more . (I remember him using fresh sweet potatoes when I was young). You could do either.
Ingredients:
2 large cans sweet potatoes
2 t butter or margarine
3 t brown sugar
2 pinches cinnamon
juice from one orange
large marshmallows
Directions:
1. Cook sweet potatoes on stove with butter, about 15 minutes, with liquid from can simmering
2. Drain liquid off
3. * Or peel fresh sweet potatoes, cut into chunks, and cook in water and butter until done for mashing, and drain liquid off *
4. Over low heat, Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and squeeze orange over the pan, allowing some flesh to fall into the potatoes
5. Mash by hand with potatoe masher
6. Transfer to baking dish, (he uses the deep square corning ware dish)
7. Cover entirely with rows of large marshmallows
8. Place under broiler, on bottom rack, until marshmallows have browned
