CURRY COIN COOKIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hartman Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1984.
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs lightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons curry
1-1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Directions:
1. Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add eggs and vanilla and incorporate well.
3. Sift remaining dry ingredients then add to mixture and combine then stir in nuts.
4. Divide dough into 4 rolls and wrap each in waxed paper then freeze.
5. Slice into 1/4 slices while frozen and place on ungreased baking sheet.
6. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes then allow to cool 2 minutes on baking sheet.
7. Remove to racks and cool.
