Turnip is a pungent tasting root vegetable which is high in Vitamin C. When cooked with the right spices it has a very unique and exotic flavor. This is a very easy recipe.
Ingredients:
turnip - 2 chopped into cubes
onion - 1/2 finely chopped
tomato - 1/2 cut into cubes
cilantro/coriander leaves - 2 tbsp(the more the better)
chilli powder - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 1.5 tsp
salt to taste
sugar - 1/2 tsp
oil - 2 tbsp
cumin - 1 tsp
ginger - 1 tsp finely chopped
garlic - 1 tsp finely chopped
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a pan. 2. Add cumin once it splutters add onion; garlic and ginger and fry till it turns translucent. 3. Add the turnip; salt; chilli powder; coriander powder and sugar and cook till turnips are tender. Add the chopped tomatoes. Cover and cook for a minute. 4. Garnish with lots of coriander leaves. 5. Serve with naan.
