Curried Beef Samosas With Mango Papaya Chutney

I love making these simple yet tasty samosa to serve at a dinner party, potluck or freeze ahead for snacks or indian style dinner.
Ingredients:
for chutney
1 ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted, chopped
1 papaya, peeled, seeded, chopped
1 c finely chopped onion
1/4 c white wine vinegar
1/4 c sugar
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tbsp dried currants
salt and pepper
for samosas
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/3 c finely chopped onion
1 lb lean ground beef
2 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp all purpose flour
36 wonton wrappers
1 egg, beaten with some water to blend
vegetable oil, for deep frying
Directions:
1. For chutney:
2. Combine all ingredients except currants in medium saucepan. and simmer until onion is tender and mixture thickens slightly.
3. Stir in currants. Set aside and chill.
4. For samosas:
5. Heat 2 tbsp oil in heavy large skillet over medium high heat and add onion.
6. Sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
7. Add beef and sauté until brown, breaking up clumps with back of spoon, about 5 minutes.
8. Add curry powder and flour and sauté 2 minutes longer.
9. Transfer beef mixture to colander and drain oil and cool.
10. Lightly flour baking sheet. Arrange 12 wonton wrappers on work surface.
11. Spoon 1 tablespoon filling in center of each.
12. Brush edges with egg.
13. Fold each wrapper diagonally in half, forming triangle.
14. Press edges together to seal.
15. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
16. Add enough vegetable oil to heavy large saucepan to reach depth of 4 inches.
17. Fry samosas until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
18. Transfer samosas to paper towels to drain oil.
19. Serve samosas with chutney.
