Cucumber Dill Marinated Salad

I grew up eating cucumbers and vinegar and absolutely LOVE them! I could eat them everyday. As a child I would make them for my self and over the years have tweaked the recipe to my liking. These go good with any dish, I also enjoy eating them for a snack. Note chill time is cooking time.
Ingredients:
3 large cucumbers, peeled
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup vinegar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon dry dill weed
1 small onion
Directions:
1. Thinly slice cucumber and onion and place in a bowl with all ingredients.
2. chill for 2 hours for best taste.
