Crunchy Fresh Peach Cobbler

A simple, seasonal recipe that makes a rich desert. Be sure to use real butter, or stick oleo, or it just doesn't turn out correctly.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh peaches, sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 lb butter (or stick oleo)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
Directions:
1. Sprinkle 1 Cup sugar over sliced Peaches in large bowl, and let stand while preparing batter.
2. Melt the butter in a 2 quart Casserole dish and set aside.
3. Mix dry ingredients, and beat in milk til lumps are gone. Pour batter into casserole over melted butter.
4. DO NOT MIX.but SPOON sliced Peaches over batter.
5. Bake in 350 F over for 45 minutes.
6. Serve warm.
