No dough to roll - mix ingredients and pat crumble mixture into pie plate. Savory with a hint of sweet. This was my grandmother's, then my mother's, and now it's mine! :-) My mother always used with cheese pie ingredients (cheesecake like filling), but it is also perfect for pumpkin pie or quiche! Ingredients:
1/2 cup oil |
2 tablespoons milk |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
Directions:
1. Shake or whisk oil and milk together. Separately mix dry ingredients and thenk combine with liquid. Mix with fork until crumbly/dough-like and then press into 2 small pie plates (split ingredients in half for 1 pie crust). This can be kneaded and rolled if desired. 2. Either brown in the oven before adding ingredients or add filling and then bake. 3. This is similar to a recipe posted by Lali (My Own Pie Crust), but it has equal parts sugar and salt. The salt and sugar can vary to the taste of each person. |
