I haven't seen this recipe here and since it is a favorite in my family I thought I would share.
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 and a half cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring (use a good one like watkin's madagascar)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
8 small croissants split
a fourth of a cup of chopped pecans
butter
your favorite syrup (warmed)
powdered sugar and cinnamon (for garnishing)
Directions:
1. Mix the eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a bowl.
2. Melt 3 pats of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Dip the croissants in the egg mixture, then place in the heated skillet.
4. Sprinkle the tops with the pecans immediately.
5. Cook on both sides turning as needed until golden and crispy.
6. Remove from skillet to serving platter and sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
7. Serve with warmed syrup.
8. I serve this with honeydew melon, strawberries and a glass of OJ.
