Well, of course, since this is cooked in the crockpot, you know it will take some time. However getting it ready to cook takes no time at all. This was DH's favorite way to have chicken. Again, I use thighs instead of breasts which do not hold up as well to crockpot cooking. Using low-fat sour cream and Healthy Request soups will lower the fat content of this recipe.
Ingredients:
8 boneless skinless chicken thighs, trimmed of fat
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
1/2 cup sour cream
Directions:
1. Place chicken thighs in a slow cooker.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the two soups together until smooth. Pour over the chicken, making sure it is well coated. Cover and cook on LO heat for 4 to 6 hours.
3. Stir in the sour cream about 1/2 hour before serving.
4. Note: If you choose to use chicken breasts, cook them on LO heat for 3 to 4 hours. Do not overcook.
