Crockpot New England Clam Chowder

Easy Clam Chowder in the Crockpot
Ingredients:
6 slices of bacon, diced
2 onions, chopped
5 cans (6.5 oz each) clams, drained *reserve liquid
6 medium potatoes, cubed, peeled-if you prefer
2 t garlic, minced
1 tsp black pepper
2 - 12oz cans evaporated milk
salt, to taste

Directions:
1. In medium skillet, cook bacon and onions until onions are tender
2. Place drained, cooked bacon in Crockpot
3. Add enough water to reserved clam juice to make 3 Cups
4. Pour into Crockpot
5. Add potatoes, garlic and pepper (salt optional) to Crockpot
6. Cover and cook on LOW 7 Hours
7. Mix in Clams and 2 cans of milk
8. Cover and cook on LOW additional 30-45 minutes.
9. (adjust seasoning if necessary)
