Crock Pot Italian Pizza Sauce over Pasta

A nice comfort food.
Ingredients:
1 lb bulk italian sausage
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can chili beans
1 (2 1/4 ounce) can sliced ripe olives, drained
1 medium chopped onion
1 small chopped green bell pepper
2 minced garlic cloves
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon quick-cooking tapioca
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
hot cooked pasta, your choice
shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until no longer pink.
2. Drain off fat.
3. Transfer to your crock pot.
4. Add the next 13 ingredients except cooked pasta and shredded mozzarella cheese and mix well.
5. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 9 hours.
6. Sauce should be slightly thickened.
7. Discard bay leaf before serving.
8. Stir pizza sauce before serving over pasta.
9. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
