Crock-Pot Corn Chowder

This is from the cooking blog A year of crockpot cooking I haven't tried this yet so I'm posting it here to save it.
Ingredients:
2 quarts chicken broth
1 small onion
1 red pepper
1 carrot
1 medium potato
16 ounces frozen corn
1 tablespoon onion
Directions:
1. Finely chop onion and saute in olive oil.
2. Finely chop red pepper and carrot.
3. Wash and finely chop potato, peel if desired.
4. Mix all ingredients in crockpot and cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
