Crock Pot Beef Bourguignon

Found on the internet with Amy F. as the poster. Thanks Amy this is so good! Prep time does not include marinade time, which is 3 hours to overnight.
Ingredients:
1 cup dry red wine
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
1/2 teaspoon thyme
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 lbs stewing beef, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes
3 slices bacon, diced (pref thick cut)
12 small white onions
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Combine first 7 ingredients, mix well; add beef.
2. Marinate at least 3 hours or over night.
3. Drain meat; reserve marinade.
4. In skillet sauté bacon; remove.
5. Brown meat in bacon fat.
6. Place beef, bacon, vegetables, and seasonings in crock pot.
7. Pour over enough marinade to cover.
8. Cook on low 8-10 hours.
