Creole-Marinated Tomatoes

very delicious salad with a twist. saw this in a bon apetit issue
Ingredients:
3 lbs large tomatoes, cored, each cut into 6 wedges
4 large green onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
3/4 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
1 celery, thinly sliced
2 large garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Combine tomatoes, green onions, and parsley in large bowl.
2. Combine oil and all remaining ingredients in heavy medium saucepan.
3. Stir over medium-low heat until sugar and salt dissolve, about 1 minute.
4. Stir warm marinade into tomato mixture.
5. Chill at least 4 hours and up to 6 hours.
